    Presentation at quiz night

On Saturday 11 November, the club social event was a quiz night, with the added glamour of the presentation of trophies for the club tournament.

Many thanks to Mick Long who has organized the tournament over the past few years. Suzy Leigh will now be taking over.

Around 40 people attended for nine taxing rounds of quiz questions, lubricated by wine and cheese. For those of you unlucky enought to miss this opportunity to test your brain cells, here are a few questions (answers below).

    1. Before Andy Murray in what year was the last British men’s winner at Wimbledon?
    2. After Great Britain, which is Europe’s largest island?
    3. Who shot the shooter in 1963?
    4. Of which European country is Leo Varadkar the premier?
    5. Which country currently holds the Davis Cup?
    6. What did James Goodfellow invent which was introduced in 1967?
    7. The swede is a cross between which two vegetables?
    8. Who won the 2017 Booker prize, with what book?
    9. How many post offices are there in Summertown?
    10. Where did Eleanor Rigby keep her face?

There was also an entertaining round identifying pictures of the club committee as babies. Lucy Hartley, Trevor Lee, and Peter Stalker seemed to be the most recognizable!
